摘要

The overriding objective of this book is to understand better why Occidentals acquired strong prejudices against Orientals and how those prejudices influence modern attempts to form working relationships between the two. The book analyses how and why those entrenched prejudices about Asia became ingrained in New Zealanders in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
