It is generally believed that it is possible for a wireless laser-communication system to effectively realize all-weather communication within a certain sight distance. However, owing to the great differences in meteorological conditions, due to different geographical locations, landforms, environmental pollution, and other factors, laser atmospheric-communication systems are widely used in various regions and conditions.
