Circular Bioeconomy Transition-Based Studies in Biorefineries of Microalgae Biomass
摘要
Anthropogenic activities that cause large emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere have caused worldwide effects such as climate change and global warming, leading to growing global concern about the environmental impact of traditional industries. In this context, the promotion of microalgae biorefineries for renewable energy and chemical production plays an important role. These facilities are known as a way to maximize the value of biomass, reduce waste and produce different products (chemicals, biomaterials and bioenergy). This chapter provides a literature review on the conversion of microalgal biomass into energy, fuels and value-added products in a biorefinery and identifies the main circular bioeconomy policies around the world to promote this technology.
