Bridging Cultures and Medicine: Quantitative Insights in Ethnopharmacology

For the discovery and creation of novel medicines, ethnopharmacology—the study of conventional medical practices and plant-based treatments utilized by various cultures—has become a crucial resource. This chapter examines the critical role that quantitative and comparative methodologies play in advancing our understanding of ethnopharmacology. By using strict quantitative methods and making cultural comparisons, researchers have been able to give important information on the efficacy, safety, and mechanisms of conventional therapies.
