Capability

In this chapter, the capability approach is introduced through the work of Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum. Capability will be described as a measure of international human development through its conceptualization, history, and prior research. From these understandings, capability forms the theoretical underpinning to this work by giving priority to the conditions that precede post-school transition regardless of how “successful” these outcomes are determined to be.
