Characteristics of Magnetic Field of Rocket-Triggered Lightning

In addition to verifying the validity of the lightning models, the close magnetic field waveform can also be used to estimate the lightning peak current. Rakov et al. showed the magnetic field waveforms at 50 m and 90 m for two altitude triggered lightning RSs in 1998. In 2002, Uman et al. showed that the magnetic field derivative waveforms at 15 m were in good agreement with the current derivative waveforms. Schoene et al. reported the waveform parameters of magnetic field and magnetic field derivative of triggered lightning RSs measured at Camp Blanding, Florida in 1999–2000.
