Implementation of the Method of the Areas’ Ratio on FPGA

An approach for implementing the MAR during defuzzification on a FPGA is presented in the article. It should be noted that the MAR consists of five stages and is performed after traditional fuzzy inference operations such as fuzzification, fuzzy implication, and aggregation. The article presents logical diagrams for performing each stage of the implementation of the defuzzification. Two approaches to optimizing computational processes in the method of the areas’ ratio are also presented. Firstly, this is the combination of parallel computing operations at the third stage. Secondly, optimization of program code, which made it possible to ensure the speed of fuzzy inference calculation in 165 ns.
