Cladding of Mild Steel Plates Using CMT Process

摘要

This article describes an experimental investigation done to determine how the cold metal transfer process parameters affected the amount of dilution in a single layer of super duplex 2507 stainless steel cladding on mild steel. Weld cladding has been a well-liked technique for restoring damaged components or creating a corrosion-resistant surface. In the cladding process, stainless steel is deposited on low-carbon steel components to create good corrosion-resistant surfaces in order to achieve maximum economy and extended life. According to this study, dilution increases as the welding current increases but decreases with increasing welding speed. This study's findings not only demonstrate its technical superiority but also support its low-cost surfacing applications due to its improved productivity and features. MINITAB was used to analyze the experiment's results.
