Dynamic Characteristics of C4F7N-CO2 Arc Based on MHD Simulation
摘要
C4F7N stands out as a promising SF6 alternative gas with practical applications. This study delves into the arc behavior of a C4F7N-CO2 gas mixture. We initiated a two-dimensional arc model for the C4F7N-CO2 gas mixture employing a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD)-based modeling approach. This model couples equations from multiple physical fields and numerically solves them through the finite volume method. Leveraging this model, we conducted a simulation study on the arc characteristics of the C4F7N-CO2 gas mixture, examining how current magnitude and gas mixture ratios affect these properties. To assess its potential as an SF6 substitute, we also performed a comparative analysis with SF6-CO2 gas mixtures. This research offers valuable insights for the engineering design of high-voltage circuit breakers. This work was supported by the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd.
