Simulation of Inter-Satellite Terahertz Communication Channel Based on Parallel Ray Tracing Algorithm

With the development of the new generation of satellite communication technology, inter-satellite high-speed communication through satellite networking has become the demand of the development of human society. The terahertz band is an attractive solution for high-speed inter-satellite communication due to its extremely large bandwidth and the absence of extremely high atmospheric absorption losses in space. Due to the short wavelength of terahertz waves, the scattering mechanisms of satellite platforms in the terahertz band are complex and difficult to estimate. In order to quickly and accurately estimate the propagation characteristics of terahertz signals between satellites, a channel simulation method based on parallel ray tracing algorithm is proposed in this paper. According to the characteristics of space communication environment, the propagation process and multi-dimensional characteristics of terahertz waves from satellite to satellite are analyzed. A terahertz communication channel model was established by using ray tracing method and parallel algorithm, and the channel characteristics of terahertz inter-satellite links were analyzed.
