International Student Mobility (ISM) and African Students in China

This chapter focuses on international student mobility (ISM)—specifically African-China student mobility within Chinese higher education. It first unpacks the dominant narrative of Westward mobility for non-Western learners in the extant scholarship on ISM, before going on to explore China’s transition from a traditional ‘sending’ country to a non-traditional ‘receiving’ country.
