Mechanism of Synthesis for Graphene and Its Derivatives by Electrochemical Exfoliation

摘要

The first two-dimensional atomic crystal that is now known to us is graphene. Many of its material characteristics, including mechanical stiffness, strength, and elasticity, as well as exceedingly high electrical and thermal conductivity, are incomparable. There have been numerous discoveries in the study of graphene in recent years. One of the most recent areas of material research is the chemistry of graphene and its derivatives. The production of graphene and its derivatives in large quantities utilizing low-cost techniques is highly desirable and important for practical application. There are many methods for synthesizing materials, including chemical exfoliation, mechanical exfoliation, and chemical synthesis. Electrochemical exfoliation is considered a promising method among the several that have been used to make graphene materials since it offers high yield, great performance, low cost, and excellent upscalability. This chapter provides a concise and thorough assessment of current advancements in electrochemical exfoliation approaches, a strategic design for exfoliations, mechanisms, and graphene electrochemistry.
