An Implementation Method of Jointing Dual-4T4R RRUs

With the widespread adoption of 5G networks, more and more network operator equipment now supports 8 transmit and 8 receive (8T8R) antennas on the base station side. However, the cost of remote radio unit (RRU) equipment of 8T8R is high. To address this issue, this paper proposes a method to revitalize old 4T4R equipment and reuse existing 5G network sites by combining two 4T4R RRUs. Additionally, to solve the problem of weak coverage in low- and middle-rise residential areas, the paper introduces an RRU channel soft correction algorithm, which can correct RRU channels without additional equipment, and verifies its effectiveness in a real network. The results show that this scheme can effectively improve indoor depth coverage capability and customer network experience.
