Eco-Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development in Mizoram’s Mountainous Landscape: Unleashing Potentials for Positive Change
摘要
The pursuit of sustainable development in geographically challenged locations, like Mizoram’s mountainous landscape, demands novel ways that balance economic growth and environmental preservation. This proposed study aimed to investigate the dynamic relationship between eco-entrepreneurship and sustainable development in Mizoram, with an emphasis on harnessing the hidden capacity for positive change. Mizoram, a northeastern Indian state, has a distinct geography and a diverse fauna, but it also faces development challenges due to its distant position and limited resources. The advent of eco-entrepreneurship, defined as environmentally responsible business endeavours, offers a way to solve these difficulties by capitalizing on the region's inherent assets and supporting long-term success. The purpose of this research is to determine the extent to which eco-entrepreneurship might serve as a catalyst for a revolutionary transformation of Mizoram’s socioeconomic structure. The qualitative analysis for this conceptual paper is to identify essential theoretical frameworks, ideas, and best practices. By examining current policies, infrastructural support, and access to markets, the research aims to identify gaps that prevent the realization of eco-friendly entrepreneurial ventures in the region. There are several anticipated outcomes of this study. First, it aims to shed light on the underutilized potential of eco-entrepreneurship in the mountainous terrain of Mizoram, offering insights into how sustainable businesses can support community well-being and economic diversification. The second goal of the study is to offer valuable assistance to the government, development organizations, and entrepreneurs on how to foster and promote eco-entrepreneurial activities. Hence, the proposed research endeavours to bridge the gap between theory and practice by investigating the role of eco-entrepreneurship in driving sustainable development in Mizoram. By unleashing the potentials embedded within the mountainous landscape, this study aspires to foster positive change that is both economically viable and environmentally responsible.
