Integrated Hydrologic Assessment of Water Management Options for Regulated Wetlands Under Conditions of Rainfall Change: A Case Study of Bhandara District, India

摘要

The current study's examination of rainfall and groundwater exploration on biodiversity issues and mitigation was done in hard rock regions including granite, gneisses, and schist. Since 1991, the district has engaged in various phases of groundwater exploration. The method applies for IWD for 19 exploratory wells (EW) and 6 observation wells (OW) were drilled between 1991 and 1992. Additionally, between 1999 and 2011, three Piezometers (Pz) were built for the purpose of monitoring groundwater levels. Where there is a data gap, groundwater investigation has been undertaken down to a depth of 200 mbgl, and, as a result, seven exploratory wells have been built throughout the years 2021–2022. The district typically receives 1298.5 mm of precipitation per year, with a range of 48–93 wet days. Data on annual rainfall from 1998 through 2021 is analyzed. According to this, the wettest year was 2013 (1691.2 mm), and the driest was 2004 (765.3 mm). The investigation of rainfall trends reveals a decreasing tendency at 2.9 mm/year. Drinking or using polluted water for a long time can cause various diseases in humans and animals such as typhoid and cholera. When the toxic substance is mixed with water, it reduces the amount of oxygen in the water which creates problems for aquatic animals while respiring under water.
