摘要

The adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was a significant step forward in humanity's pursuit for a more sustainable future. The world's advancement toward SDG accomplishment is tracked by 231 distinct social-ecological metrics distributed over 169 objectives, and remote sensing (RS) supplies Earth observation data for 30 of these metrics, directly or indirectly. Nonetheless, a number of projects have been launched in response to the demand for free access data. RS data may also be utilized to create potentially useful extra measures or sub-indicators. By doing so, they can help to overcome one of the primary challenges with SDG tracking: how to execute the SDG indicators effectively. The study looks at the durability of Earth Observation data in terms of SDG ongoing planning, monitoring, and assessment. The scientific community has made tremendous progress in producing geographic information at numerous spatial, spectral, radiometric, and temporal resolutions, allowing the data to be used for a variety of reasons. It looks at papers from a variety of scientific fields that employ geospatial data for mapping, monitoring, and analyzing the earth's properties and processes, as well as laying the groundwork for its application in accomplishing the SDGs.
