Singular Perturbation Approximation-Based Modelling Using Frequency-Limited Balanced Gramians

In this chapter, a novel reduced-order modelling technique is presented using balanced singular perturbation approximation by developing new frequency-limited discrete-time controllability and observability Gramians. The proposed method generates stable reduced models and provides a better approximation. A reduced-order elliptic filter is designed using the suggested technique, approximating the original model reasonably well in the specified frequency interval.
