Techniques and Process Development for Quick Response and Sustainable Recovery
摘要
This chapter will focus on the techniques, related methodology and process development for quick response and sustainable recovery before and after a natural disaster (especially, flood and cyclone) with the help of technology. Different aspects of cyclone-resilient livelihood, namely, agriculture, food security, education, health, housing, and river embankment protection in a natural disaster-prone area will be covered. As case studies, cyclone-resilient house designs, flood-tolerant embankment methodologies, and salt-tolerant sustainable agricultural methods will be described. In addition, efficient communication strategies for preparedness and technology-aided educational support/rehabilitation will be discussed. In a cyclone-prone rural coastal area of India, how the role of technology has changed in the last 15 years for an efficient disaster response and recovery, will be covered in all critical aspects.
