Review About Plant Fibers and Their Composites in Morocco: Description and Utilization in Construction Materials

This work involves the identification of plants of a fibrous nature available in Morocco that can be used for reinforcing materials. Great attention was acquired to their current utilization about their use in other fields, their classes, their characteristics, their extraction methods, and their environmental concerns. A descriptive approach was investigated for their viable utilization in a sustainable view. This study showed that Morocco is rich in several plant fibers, including Kenaf (Indian hemp), Roseau (reed), Straw, and Acacia. These materials are used in construction as ecological, thermal, and acoustic insulators. According to its great utility, plant fiber is a potential material for several uses, particularly as alternative elements of synthetic fibers in building materials. These eco-materials have a positive role in reducing our consumption of raw materials of fossil origin, limiting gas emissions, and create new economic sectors.
