Research on Intelligent Control of Tube Bender

With the rapid development of precision forming technology today, tube bending has become an important direction to maintain the steady development of national economy. Tube bending is a nonlinear and complicated process under the interaction of multi-parameters. When the technological parameters are not selected properly, the quality defects such as fracture, cross-sectional distortion, wrinkle, and springback are easy to appear. In view of the present research situation of tube bending, the theory of tube bending forming is deeply analyzed, including: mechanism, stress–strain, neutral layer displacement, and bending moment, based on the assumption of plane strain, etc., based on the mechanism of tube bending, the experiments of coreless tube bending were carried out, and the effect of process parameters on tube forming quality was analyzed. An intelligent control system for tube bending is designed, and the nonlinear mapping relationship between process parameters and forming quality is established based on the database of process parameters as the sample base of BP neural network, and the intelligent control of tube bending is completed.
