Stability Analysis of Gradient Zone of a Solar Pond

Linear stability theory is applied to study the effect of feedback control on the onset of double diffusion convection in the non-convective layer of a solar pond. The system is stabilized using sensors and actuators that modify the intensity of the heat flow. The sensors are positioned at a given height of the layer. The influence of the application of active control on the appearance of convection in the case of an infinite layer is analyzed.
