Cosmetic products derived from marine- and plant-based ingredients have huge market demand as they represent alternatives to chemical-based ingredients which may result in adverse side effects, especially for those with sensitive skin. Marine- and plant-based collagen for cosmetic ingredients has been previously reported to be safe, nontoxic, and environment-friendly and has no conflict with halal issues.
