Estimating the Quality of Asteroid Observations in the Space of Initial Motion Parameters

A method has been developed for obtaining initial motion parameters corresponding to separate positional observations of asteroids. The method is based on conditional minimization of the sum of squares of residuals of all observations except one. The condition is the equality of zero residuals for this observation. The problem is solved for each observation, and the result of the solution is a vector of initial parameters corresponding to each observation. It has been shown that the use of the obtained solutions in the rejection of asteroid observations allows to increase the accuracy of motion prediction.
