The Influence of Aluminum Additives on the Nitriding of the Mixture Ferrosilicon–Shungite by SHS Method

Nitriding of initial ferrosilicon-schungite-aluminum mixtures was carried out by the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis and β–Si3N4/β–Si3Al3O3N5, SiC, Si4.69Al1.31O1.31N6.69, α–Fe composite was obtained. The influence of aluminum additives on the combustion rate, nitrogen content, phase composition and morphology of synthesis products was studied. The chemical stages of the interaction of ferrosilicon with shungite and aluminum additives in a nitrogen atmosphere are shown. The microstructure of combustion products is represented by shapeless formations and lamellar crystals.
