The Use of High-Density Propellant in the Conditions of a Model Installation Based on the Nozzle Bomb Test

摘要

This paper examines the possibility of increasing the muzzle velocity of a projectile through the use of a traveling charge of high-density fuel under the conditions of a model ballistic setup. The combustion law of this high-density fuel was obtained earlier from the results of tests carried out in a nozzle bomb. Using a software package developed at the Scientific Research Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics TSU, a theoretical parametric study was carried out aimed at increasing the muzzle velocity of the propellant element while maintaining maximum pressure in the loading chamber due to the inclusion of model high-density fuels in the composition of the propellant charge. Gas-dynamic analysis of a shot with a traveling charge and a classical shot has been carried out.
