Maximum Installed Sizing of the Distributed Generations in the Distribution Power System

Connecting Distributed Generations (DGs) to the distribution power system offers many technical and economic benefits. Increasing the installed sizing of the DGs is one of the factors for attracting investment. However, excessive raising the sizing of DGs will negatively affect indicators such as power loss, voltage and current on the system. This paper considers the problem of determining the maximum installed sizing of DGs on the distribution power system considering the indicators including power loss reduction and voltage and current limit conditions. The White Shark Optimizer algorithm (WSO) is applied to solve this problem. The considered problem is evaluated on the sample system of 33 nodes in terms of the considered technical indicators. The obtained results by WSO are also compared with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The results show that the proposed problem not only reduces the power loss but also maximizes the installed capacity of DGs. In addition, the results also demonstrate that WSO is an effective method for the considered problem.
