Optimization of Target Value of the Volumetric Efficiency by Renovating the Design of Vikyno RV165-2 Diesel Engine Intake Manifold by Using Simulation and Artificial Neural Network

摘要

Intake efficiency is one of the quantities used to evaluate the quality of the intake period in a diesel engine. The value of intake efficiency affects the engine's performance and pollutants. Improving intake efficiency is an important step in the design process of diesel engines. This study aims to optimize volumetric efficiency (VE) by changing variables in the 3D intake profile design via five variables. The intake efficiency of each intake case when changing the values of design variables is found through ANSYS Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) simulation software. Based on intake manifold design variables and corresponding (VE), the study uses Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model and Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm to find out the optimal intake manifold design. The result of the research is to devise a reasonable parameter model for intake manifold, thereby proposing a novel intake manifold design whose (VE) is optimal for the VIKYNO RV165-2 Diesel Engine. This design is a vital reference in enhancing the efficiency of this engine.
