Heat Transfer Coefficient and Pressure Drop of Evaporating R448A Inside Multiport Mini-Channel Tubes

On the market, R448A is being a proposed as an alternative refrigeration working for air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. For the optimized integration of R448A inside refrigeration systems, heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop data of R448A inside channel is of immense practical necessity, which is the focus of the current study. The range of investigated mass flux is from 100 to 500 kg/m2s, while heat flux is from 3 to 15 kW/m2, at the saturation temperature of 6 °C, inside 3 different multiport mini-channel tube. The effect of heat flux and mass flux on the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop is analyzed, and comparison between the data and existing correlation are performed to evaluate their predictive capacity. And finally, correlation is proposed for the practical prediction of the experimental data for engineering application.
