  • Zhenghong Xiao

摘要

Northwest China is geographically adjacent to the Loess Plateau to the east and the Tibetan Plateau to the south. In terms of natural geography, it was roughly the western part of the Mongolia-Xinjiang Plateau (蒙新高平原). Administratively, it includes the present Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (新疆维吾尔自治区), the western part of the Neimenggu Autonomous Region (内蒙古自治区), the Hexi region of Gansu Province, and the central and northern parts of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (宁夏回族自治区).
