Other Neuropsychiatric Symptoms Including Psychosis in Stroke

Aside from major neuropsychiatric symptoms such as depression, emotional incontinence, anger, and fatigue, we may encounter other miscellaneous symptoms in stroke patients. They include apathy, mania, psychosis, and personality changes. Although these symptoms have been less well investigated, they may annoy patients and their families and increase the caregiver burden. Various factors are related to the development of these symptoms, and we need to appropriately identify and treat these symptoms. These issues are briefly described here.
