摘要

The fauna of Heteroptera in the Middle East is analyzed in this book. In total, 3079 species and subspecies in 751 genera and 58 families have been recorded from this region so far. Among the Middle Eastern countries, Iran with 1773 species and subspecies in 556 genera and 54 families is the most diverse. In addition to introducing 43 new species records (in 19 families) for the fauna of Iran, 46 named species (plus an unidentified species) have been excluded. The species endemic to Iran (160 species) are classified in 14 families of which Miridae with 107 described species has the highest number.
