Degree of Satisfaction of Nursing Students with the Flipped Classroom Methodology in Simulation Scenarios

Education requires constant adaptation, as the environment and personal circumstances change systematically. The Zamora School of Nursing has chosen to implement simulation as an appropriate form of learning in several subjects. Simulation allows for reflective learning of the subject matter taught in the nursing degree, in a respectful and safe environment with the student and future patients, in which acquired knowledge is increased, skills are developed and critical thinking and self-confidence are strengthened. As this is a challenging form of learning, and for the students themselves to be involved in it, the option of a flipped class was considered and the creation and development of the simulation scenarios was undertaken by the students themselves. Several topics of interest to the students were selected and groups of 8–10 students were formed with a tutor teacher and several simulation scenarios were created and taught to the rest of the students. In order to verify the level of satisfaction of all the students with the methodology taught, a validated Likert-type scale was used to determine a high level of satisfaction.
