A Comparative Study in Europe to Measure the Impact of Government Policies, Industry on Public Perception of Renewable Energy

摘要

Despite the availability of numerous sustainable energy technologies, their widespread adoption by society remains limited. This research aims to address this issue by examining the impact of government policies and industry on public perception of renewable energy technologies through a comparative study of Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands. By understanding the factors influencing public attitudes, this study seeks to identify best practices and cultural factors that contribute to or hinder the adoption of sustainable energy technologies. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining a survey of the public with interviews of industry representatives and policymakers. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) will serve as the theoretical framework to examine the factors influencing public acceptance of new energy technologies. In addition to the TAM variables of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, this study will also consider factors such as costs, environmental awareness, and policies. Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands were selected for the comparative analysis due to their distinct approaches to renewable energy, geographical diversity, and availability of data and resources. The comparative analysis will shed light on the impact of government policies and industry initiatives in each country, highlighting both successes and challenges. The findings will provide valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders seeking to promote sustainable energy adoption in their respective countries. By understanding the interplay between government policies, industry practices, and public attitudes, this research aims to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy transition on a global scale.
