Repositories of Open Educational Resources and Their Roles in International Collaboration

This work addresses some key characteristics of ROER – Repositories of Open Educational Resources that can support international collaboration in Creating, Sharing and Reusing educational materials. It is an exploratory work to be followed by a deeper and more detailed analysis. The first step is to identify types of ROERs and a set of characteristics they have. Then, perform a search to find examples from around the world and examine and classify them. The objective is to establish a methodology to create a catalog of ROERs to support users seeking courseware. The outcome is that there are ROERs all over the world offering materials in various levels, disciplines, languages and possibilities of use.
