Nexus Approach in Conservation of SEPLS
摘要
The discussion in the previous chapters so far, on the indigenous practices in agroecology and conservation for sustainable development and inclusive growth to leave no one behind, vividly signifies its implications in this anthropocene and the climate milieu as well. It is multi-dimensional, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder oriented system and therefore needs multi-pronged approaches to address the issues and concerns herein. This further leads to exploring a newer design approach—referred here as the ‘Nexus-Approach’ and the present section describes the features, functions, benefits and roles of Nexus in conserving SEPLs in the current context. It also elucidates on the challenges and opportunities and presents a novel economic paradigm to suit the nexus, which has been connotated as the ‘Geodesic Economy’ or the ‘saucer-ball’ model. The discussions open newer arena of community-based conservation in the era of climate change.
