摘要

The perception and understanding of sustainability are often challenged by the development needs and the pressure of population. The sustainability of life and livelihood acquired through traditional practices of responsible consumption and production in the indigenous communities have long been left behind. Today, the socio-political paraphernalia in a consumer economy creates newer dilemma in distinguishing development and sustainable development. This chapter rewrites sustainability as a science of winning the climate challenge, leaving no one behind and validates it with empirical evidences as well. The analytical discourse deciphers the triple bottomlines of sustainability and revisits the challenges and opportunities in accomplishing the sustainable development goals by 2030.
