Liver Cancer
摘要
Epidemiology: Worldwide, liver cancer ranks sixth in incidence with 905,677 new diagnoses, accounting for 4.7% of all cancer cases, and third in terms of mortality with 830,180 deaths, accounting for 8.3% of all deaths due to cancer [1]. An 18% 5-year survival rate of LC makes it the second most lethal cancer [2]. The death rate due to liver cancer has increased from 7.2 to 10.3 deaths per 100,000 during the period 2000 to 2016 [2]. An incidence of greater than one million cases was estimated to occur by the end of 2025 [3], and more than one million deaths were projected to occur by the end of 2030 [2]. The reported incidence is highest in Eastern Asia (491,687 cases) followed by South-Eastern Asia (99,265 cases) and South-Central Asia (54,698 cases). Similarly, the mortality was highest in Eastern Asia (449,534 deaths) followed by South-Eastern Asia (95,668 deaths) and South-Central Asia (52,769 deaths).
