Public health is crucial for the stability and development of society, as it directly impacts the public’s interests. Given the healthcare industry’s close connection with public health, healthcare companies undertake a significant responsibility in this field. Compared with others, the healthcare industry has a greater ethical and social responsibility towards promoting public health. Based on that, regarding ethics and social responsibility, stakeholder engagement is an essential ethical practice that healthcare companies should prioritise in public health initiatives. This chapter explores how healthcare companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK) integrate stakeholder engagement into their corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices related to public health. The analysis is based on the four key values claimed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the IAP2 Stakeholder Engagement Standard. Specifically, through content analysis, this chapter evaluates the levels and qualities of stakeholder engagement practices within the healthcare industry in the Hong Kong market, assessing whether these engagement strategies align with the core values of public health advocated by the WHO. Additionally, by examining two case studies, this chapter offers valuable insights.
