Spirituality and spiritual care are important in the delivery of holistic care, particularly in the context of population ageing. In practice, healthcare professionals may ignore or neglect them for various reasons. In this chapter, spirituality and spiritual care from the healthcare perspective are discussed, before it moves the focus to examine the latter as a human right. In addition to medico-legal considerations from the international, regional and national perspectives, legal research was conducted to check relevant court cases, if any, in various jurisdictions. It exemplifies factors leading to the insufficient or lack of spiritual care and argues that such insufficiency or the lack is a breach of human right.
