Enhancement of Neuroimmune Diagnosis by Artificial Intelligence

Neuro-immunology is a rapidly evolving area of research focusing on the intersection between the immune and nervous systems. The immune system plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of various neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, autoimmune encephalitis, and neuroinflammatory diseases. Accurate diagnosis and treatment of these conditions are paramount to improving patient outcomes. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionised medicine, including neuro-immunology. AI has the potential to greatly enhance the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosis, as well as aid in the development of personalised treatment strategies. In this chapter, we will explore the various applications of AI in neuroimmune diagnosis and therapy, highlighting its current and future potential. Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment in neuro-immunology. However, diagnosing neuro-immunological disorders can be challenging due to their complex and heterogeneous nature. AI can process large amounts of data and extract patterns and insights that may need to be more easily discernible to human clinicians. This chapter will review the various AI algorithms used in image analysis.
