Applications of Optical Spectroscopic Techniques for In Situ Soft Tissue Analysis
摘要
Noninvasive procedures play a key role in improving patient willingness to undergo diagnostic tests by offering patient friendly, fast, and automated solutions without compromising test accuracy. Optical spectroscopy techniques, grouped under “optical biopsy” techniques, are continually evolving as a cost-effective adjunct tool in the field of noninvasive medical diagnosis. They yield comprehensive knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and biochemical characteristics. This chapter begins with the fundamental principles behind different modalities of optical spectroscopy, followed by instrumentation, application-specific spectral interpretation, and recent advancements in understanding and implementing their clinical viability.
