Integrating Multi-omics Approaches for Crop Resilience Under Changing Climatic Conditions
摘要
Globally agriculture systems are widely exposed to changing climatic conditions causing negative impacts on crop productivity. Different abiotic stresses, for instance, air pollution, extreme temperature events, drought and floods are more prevalent in the present climate change scenario. The advanced approach of multiple “omics” enables a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of agricultural crop relevance towards climate change. Numerous “omics” strategies have evolved as effective technologies for plant systems, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and genomes. The feedback to inanimate stress in a variety of crops has benefited greatly from the application of multi-omics methods. Therefore, assessing the function and using multi-omics technology in agricultural production response towards abiotic stress is the goal of the current chapter. We emphasize via means of diverse omics techniques, including genomes, metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, phenomics, and ionomics, as well as the development of effective techniques to enhance agriculture. Crops that are climate resilient can be developed by using omics data in ensuring food safety for the entire planet and its expanding inhabitants. Overall, combining systems biology and interactive omics techniques may be advantageous for enhancing crop resilience and productivity under climate change.
