What Claist Can and Cannot Do

The contents of this chapter include the concepts of clay-based films, how to make them, what is expected from clay addition, what is expected from film materials, differences in characteristics from plastics, etc. The characteristics of clay-based films are explained in eight points, and 15 examples of applications using these characteristics are introduced. There are also cases where clay-based films were not used in the development process, and the reasons for this are explained. As the title suggests, it is important to understand what can and cannot be done. In this chapter, “clay-based film” is used to describe general clay-based films, and “Claist” is used to describe specific clay-based films for specific purposes.
