Impact of Sustainable Energy Policies on Sustainable Investments in Technology and Flow of Sustainable Finance to Renewable Energy or Green Energy Sector: An Indian Perspective

Sustainable policies and political support of the policies makes or breaks the investment environment in a country. A conscious move to invest in technology in the renewable energy (or green energy) sector is an urgent need given the volatile and drastic changes in the climate across the globe. This transition requires large amounts of investments in the renewable energy sector and in technology. Investments are dependent on sustainable energy policies and political stability. This study analyses the factors that constitute ‘sustainable energy policies’ and their impact on flow of sustainable investments and sustainable finance to the renewable energy sector based on collection of primary data through a research survey conducted. The study also explores the impact of and causal relationship between some of the recent ‘sustainable energy policies’ for the renewable energy sector. The study will help in recommending the factors that best constitute ‘sustainable energy policies’ and in highlighting the more impactful ‘sustainable energy policies’ for the renewable energy sector in India.
