Comparative Analysis of Peak Regulation Economy of Thermal Power Units with Plasma and Micro-oil Ignition Technology

As the installed capacity of new energy generation and the proportion of grid-connected generation continues to increase, the deep peaking of thermal power units becomes more frequent, and the resulting peaking costs not only reduce the economic efficiency of thermal power units but also increase unit losses. In this paper, the peaking of thermal power units is divided into three stages according to the operating conditions of the units, the main factors affecting the economics of thermal power units are analyzed, the model cost of peaking energy consumption of thermal power units under different stages is proposed, the economics of thermal power units using plasma ignition technology and micro-oil ignition technology are compared and studied, and the model is verified and analyzed based on the daily operating data of two 660 MW units using arithmetic analysis. The model was validated and analyzed using case studies based on daily operating data of two 660 MW units.
