Gender Dysphoria in DSD Children

Gender dysphoria is a broad term used to describe an individual’s discontent with the gender they were assigned at birth. It is thought to have its origins in the brain’s sexual differentiation, where the crucial roles of prenatal and postnatal androgens as well as societal interactions are taken into consideration. It has been observed that children with various disorders of sex development might experience GD to varying degrees, as is highlighted in the following chapter.
