Phalloplasty

Disorders of sexual development are associated with a wide array of problems giving the treating clinicians a great challenge to deal. This includes Gender Dysphoria, severe penile inadequacy in length and girth, extrophy, etc. The authors in this series have extensive experience in penile reconstruction with various flaps that include radial artery forearm flap, ALT flap, Free fibula, MLD, and Groin flap in stages. Each of the procedures has its own advantages and disadvantages and is customized according to the demands of the patient explaining risks and drawbacks along with probable clinical outcomes. The goals of phalloplasty may be different for different patients and each of the procedures has to be carefully judged and offered to the patient. The gold standard procedure for phalloplasty today is Radial artery forearm flap which carries inherent drawback of exposed skin grafted donor site.
