Classification of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is basically of two broad types: Classic and nonclassic. A subtle cryptic type also exists as the third type. The classic is further divided into salt-wasting (SW) and simple virilizing (SV). This chapter describes the basic types and their subclassifications for a better understanding of the subject.
