Liquid Metal-Enabled Chemical Synthesis

摘要

Liquid metals are widely used in various fields such as flexible devices, catalysis, batteries, and drug delivery because of their excellent deformability, high thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity. Different from the hydrogen bonds in water and the ionic bond interactions in ionic liquids, the metal bonds and covalent bonds, and various vacancies in the liquid metal system make them own relatively high conductivity and fluidity at the same time. On account of the properties mentioned above, the solubility of other elements and atomically thin oxide layer make them a new type of reaction medium in the precise synthesis of materials, including low-dimensional nanomaterials and compound materials.
