Liquid Metal Micro/Nano Magnetic Fluid

Liquid metal micro/nano magnetic fluids are considered promising materials due to their combined fluid, metallic, and magnetic properties. These properties make liquid metal magnetic fluids useful in some areas, such as grippers, sensors, soft robotics, and electric switches. This chapter first introduces the typical properties of liquid metal micro/nano magnetic fluids. Specifically, these properties include mainly magnetic response, critical separation force, viscosity, lifespan, thermal behavior, magnetic properties, and electrical conductivity. Further, four typical liquid metal micro/nano magnetic fluids are described, including a novel reconfigurable polar ferromagnetic liquid metal Putty-Like Material with high electrical conductivity, hard magnetic liquid metal fluid with good mobility and deformability, magnetocaloric liquid metal magnetic fluid, magnetic fluids with amorphous particles.
